6 of 2024 - River Updates

River Conditions

Due to heavy rain the river has entered Strong Stream conditions which is unfortunately causing delays in our maintenance programme.

Obstructions

There is a fallen tree at Bow Bridge that is blocking the navigation and is our priority to clear once flow conditions permit.

There is a fallen tree downstream of Sluice Weir Lock adjacent to the Branbridges Industrial Estate, this is passable with caution.

Closures

East Lock – Porters Lock remains closed and drawn down as per previous Notice to Mariners and we will update on any changes as soon as possible.

Leigh Flood Storage Area – Tonbridge Town Lock also remains drawn down due to Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council works undertaking urgent bank repair works at the Tonbridge Swimming Pool.


We appreciate the potential impact to river users that these issues present, and we will endeavour to reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.
