3 of 2026 - Allington Lock – CANCELLED Planned Closure for Essential Maintenance

Please be advised that the Notice to Mariners currently in place for collar strap repairs at Allington Lock, scheduled for this week, is hereby rescinded.

The planned works have been delayed, and Allington Lock is open and operating as normal.

Navigation and lock operations will continue business as usual until further notice. A new Notice to Mariners will be issued when the works are rescheduled.

Mariners are thanked for their understanding.

13 April to 17 April 2026 (inclusive)

Mariners are advised that Allington Lock will be closed to all traffic from Monday 13 April to Friday 17 April 2026 to allow essential maintenance works to be carried out.

The maintenance is required to repair an issue with the lock collar straps, ensuring the lock gates continue to operate safely and reliably for the 2026 navigation season.

The lock will be closed for the full duration of the works, and no passage will be possible during this period.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience while these essential works are undertaken.
