10 of 2025 - RESOLVED - Sunken boat on approach to Allington Lock

UPDATE 22/05/2025 - 

The sunken vessel has now been successfully refloated and towed away. Navigation downstream of Allington Lock is once again clear.

A boat has sunk on the right-hand bank underneath the M20 bridge while approaching Allington Lock on the River Medway. The vessel is currently visible, but there is concern that incoming tides may shift the wreck into the navigational channel, posing a potential hazard to other vessels.

Peel Ports, the navigation authority responsible for the area, has been notified of the incident.

Boaters are advised to navigate with extreme caution when approaching Allington Lock.
